Description
This contemporary Southwestern-style cast paper relief sculpture is titled Wisdom and is the work of artist Roy Purcell. The piece depicts the profile of a Native American woman in prayer beneath a blue watercolor moon. It features intricate mixed media embellishments, including turquoise-colored stone accents on the figure’s jewelry and headband, a polished metal concho, and a small tuft of natural fur or feather. The sculpture is rendered on heavy white paper with pronounced deckled edges. It is hand-signed in pencil by the artist Purcell and numbered 369/450 at the lower right edge. The work is professionally float-mounted against a neutral, textured background and housed in a light-finished wood frame under glass. The reverse retains a Custom Framed by O’Leary Paint label and is equipped with a wire hanger for display. Frame measures approximately 30.5 inches high by 24 inches wide.
Condition report:
The artwork and frame are in excellent overall condition. The paper remains bright with no visible signs of foxing, toning, or moisture damage. All mixed media elements are securely attached. The frame shows minimal shelf wear consistent with age and handling.
