Lot 123:
Description
A seven-piece beverage service set manufactured by Indiana Glass for the Tiara Exclusives home-party plan company of Dunkirk, Indiana. This set is crafted in “black amethyst” glass, a style of pressed glass that appears opaque black but reveals a deep purple translucence when held to a direct light source. The pieces feature the “Diamond Point” pattern, also known within the Tiara “Cameo” line, which is defined by a dense, geometric hobnail texture on the lower three-quarters of the body and a smooth, high-gloss band at the rim. The set includes one lidded vessel, suitable for use as an ice bucket or biscuit jar, featuring a matching textured lid and a faceted finial, along with six coordinating lowball-style tumblers. This collection is a quintessential example of mid-to-late 20th-century American decorative glassware. The set is accompanied by its original distributor box.
Tumblers: approximately 3.5 inches in height.
Ice Bucket: approximately 5.75 inches in diameter at the rim. 5.3 inches tall not including lid.
The glass pieces are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or internal cloudiness. The original cardboard storage box is in poor condition, showing significant structural wear, staining, tears, and residue from old adhesive tape.
