Description
painting on canvas is executed in the style of Joyce Robal. The composition features two stylized, volumetric female figures dressed in colorful circus-style costumes, including tutus in shades of yellow, red, orange, and purple. The figures are depicted mid-motion against a muted purple and gray background that includes a large, dark brown circular element suggesting a circus ring. The artwork is housed in a substantial, rounded gold-toned frame with a white linen-wrapped liner. The verso of the piece shows the canvas secured to a wooden stretcher with black metal clips. Handwritten inscriptions on the lower reverse of the frame read 026-2019 and 16×20. A partially obscured adhesive label with a barcode is affixed to the left side of the frame’s reverse. 8 x 10 in.
Condition report:
The painting is in good overall condition with the canvas remaining taut on the stretcher. The gold-toned frame exhibits minor surface wear and small scuffs consistent with age and handling.
