Lot 143:
Description
A set of porcelain dessert plates featuring central hand-painted polychrome enamel botanical studies, including specimens such as roses, tulips, and pansies. Each plate is designed with a wide apple-green ground border enriched with molded foliate and acanthus scroll motifs in a cream tone. The borders are further decorated with gilded vine-and-leaf patterns and finished with scalloped, gold-rimmed edges. Several plates in the group incorporate reticulated or pierced sections within the molded border design. The reverse of at least one plate bears hand-painted red marks consisting of the numerals 1904 and a script 2. The form and decoration are characteristic of mid-19th century Paris porcelain, often attributed to decorators such as Feuillet or Boyer.
Diameter: 9 inches.
The set shows signs of age and use. Multiple plates exhibit visible hairline cracks. There is evidence of surface staining to the white grounds and minor wear to the gilded highlights and rims.
