Description
This amber-colored pressed glass vanity or dresser tray features an intaglio-molded design on the underside. The central motif depicts a long-tailed bird, identified as a bird of paradise or pheasant, among stylized wheat stalks or tall grasses. The tray has a shaped rim with a wide central arc and two small tab handles at the narrow ends. The style is characteristic of American Depression-era glassware and is attributed to the L.E. Smith Glass Company, though similar amber glassware was produced by the Indiana Glass Company. No maker marks or signatures are visible on the item.
