Description
A pair of natural bovine horns, likely from a bull or steer. The smaller horn features a smooth surface with a dark tip transitioning into cream and tan banding toward the base. This specimen retains a small amount of organic hair at the open, hollow base. The larger horn is more robust and exhibits a heavily textured, ridged exterior with a uniform weathered tan and beige coloration. Both specimens are hollowed at the wide ends and show no visible maker marks or inscriptions. Measurements: Larger Horn: Approximately 13 to 14 inches in length along the outer curve Smaller Horn: Approximately 11 to 12 inches in length along the outer curve. The items are in good condition, showing characteristics consistent with natural aging. The larger horn exhibits longitudinal cracking and splintering, particularly at the tip and along the ridges. The bases of both horns show rough, unfinished edges where they were removed from the animal.
