Description

A 20th-century colorless blown glass decanter executed in the Federalist or Colonial Revival style. The vessel features a globular body tapering into a slender neck, accompanied by a matching disc-shaped stopper. The body is decorated with wheel-etched or copper-wheel-engraved motifs, featuring a central spread-wing eagle surmounted by three stars and flanked by delicate laurel or olive branch sprays. The form and iconography are characteristic of American patriotic glassware produced during the mid-to-late 20th century.

Stands approximately 12 inches tall with stopper.

The stopper exhibits damage, including a large crack at the base. The interior of the neck shows a visible ring of mineral residue or cloudiness, often referred to as sick glass. Light surface wear and minor scratches consistent with age and use are present.
