Lot 322:
Description
A pair of mid-20th century pressed glass open salts or decorative trinket bowls in the form of swans. The set includes one colorless glass example and one in a soft rose pink hue. Both pieces exhibit a characteristic opalescent finish concentrated along the rims and the gracefully arched necks. The exterior of each swan is molded with a detailed feather pattern, and both are set upon integral oval bases. The pink swan features an embossed overlapping monogram of the letters A and G on the underside of the base, the official mark of the Akro Agate Company. These figurines are representative of American glass production from the 1930s to the 1940s.
Each swan measures approximately 3.5 to 4 inches in height.
Both items are in good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations observed. Minor shelf wear to the underside of the bases consistent with age.
