Description
A Fenton Art Glass Company custard glass basket featuring a heavily ruffled rim and an applied handle. The body of the vessel is molded with vertical ribs. The exterior is decorated with a hand-painted floral motif depicting a multi-petaled daisy-like flower in shades of coral and yellow with green leaves and stems. Under ultraviolet light, the glass exhibits a green fluorescence, confirming the presence of uranium. The underside of the base contains an embossed oval Fenton mark with a numeral 8, indicating production in the 1980s. A partial gold foil label is also present on the base, identifying the piece as a Tara Exclusive.
