Description
An oval pressed glass serving dish, identified as a celery tray, manufactured by the Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire, Ohio. This piece is part of the Nucut line, produced in the early 20th century as a high-quality pressed glass alternative to hand-cut crystal. The interior base displays an embossed oval mark with the letters NUCUT. The decorative scheme features a complex pressed pattern imitating the American Brilliant style, including large hobstars, fan motifs, and fields of fine diamond-point cross-hatching. The vessel is characterized by a scalloped, serrated sawtooth rim. 11 inches x 5 inches x 2 inches tall.
Condition report:
Several chips are located along the serrated sawtooth rim. The interior bottom shows moderate surface scratches consistent with age and use. The glass remains clear without significant cloudiness.
