Description
This hand-carved wood sculpture by Michael Jones depicts a stylized male head with a prominent beard, mustache, and deeply textured hair resembling dreadlocks. The work is executed in a folk art style with visible chisel marks throughout the surface, indicating manual construction. The wood is finished with a dark brown stain that highlights the depth of the carving. The reverse of the sculpture is flat and bears an incised inscription that reads Done By Michael Jones IN 1977 JA W I. A small metal ring is attached to the upper reverse for wall mounting. Approximately 21 inches tall The sculpture is in good overall condition. There is minor surface wear and small abrasions consistent with age and material.
