Description
This group of hand-carved monkey pod wood serving vessels features a Mid-Century Modern aesthetic. The collection includes a rectangular tray with three divided compartments and a scalloped rim, a shallow platter in the form of a leaf with a stem handle, and a small bowl in the shape of a pear. The underside of the pear-shaped bowl bears a black stamp with the text Monkey Pod GENUINE HAND-CARVED PHILIPPINES. The items are constructed from solid wood showing characteristic grain patterns. Divided tray: 15.5 inches in length Leaf platter: 13 inches in length Pear bowl: 9 inches in length The items are in good vintage condition. Visible surface scratches are present, consistent with age and use. Adhesive residue from former labels is present on the bases of the vessels.
