Description
This modernist landscape is executed in oil or acrylic on a heavy-weave canvas support. The composition features an expressive botanical subject of flowering trees or shrubs rendered in a palette of violet, amber, and white against an atmospheric background. The technique is characterized by gestural brushwork, incorporating thin, dark linework to define branches and stippled impasto highlights to represent blossoms. The work is signed Vituszko in the lower right corner. The painting is unframed, with the canvas stapled to the reverse of a wooden stretcher. On the verso, there is a hanging wire and a handwritten mark on the wooden member reading 217. Measurement: 12 inches wide X 16 inches high. The painting is in good overall condition with minor surface dirt and typical fraying of the canvas edges at the reverse.
