Description
This vintage costume jewelry brooch is signed Weiss and features a stylized eight-petal pinwheel flower design. The piece is constructed from antiqued gold-tone base metal with beaded milgrain borders along each petal. The petals are set with faceted round amethyst-colored rhinestones. The center of the brooch consists of a raised, domed cluster of round rhinestones with an Aurora Borealis finish, exhibiting iridescent flashes of blue, purple, and green. The reverse features a horizontal pin stem with a rotating rolling safety clasp and an oval plaque stamped Weiss. Dimensions: 2.25 inches in diameter. The brooch is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear and oxidation to the gold-tone finish consistent with age. One small amethyst-colored rhinestone is missing from the outer tip of one petal. The remaining stones are present and secure. The pin mechanism is functional.
