Description
A large Fitz and Floyd hand-painted glazed ceramic vase modeled as a jovial Santa Claus. The figure is depicted in a dynamic leaning pose, supporting a large ivory-toned sack on his back decorated with small holly and berry sprigs. The underside of the base is incised with the copyright symbol followed by FF 1987 and carries a small sticker reading FF JAPAN. A gold-tone foil label on the upper surface of the base provides care instructions, noting the delicate hand-painted surface. This item includes the original red Fitz and Floyd branded box with a product label identifying the piece as SANTA w/OPEN BAG VASE. Height: Approximately 16 inches. Overall fair to good condition. There is significant loss and wear to the red finish on the top of Santa’s hat, exposing the white ceramic body underneath. Minor surface scuffs and small glaze skips are present on the red coat. Yellowed residue or old spills are visible on the base near the presents. The original box exhibits heavy wear, including tearing, extensive tape marks, surface loss, and handwritten notations.
