Description
A vintage A.C. Gilbert Trumodel No. 77 Duplex Standard Construction Toy set. This set was manufactured by The A.C. Gilbert Co. of New Haven, Connecticut. The toy consists of numerous perforated steel components including plates and strips finished in black paint, orange paint, or unpainted silver-tone metal. The set also includes metal wheels, axles, and red-painted wooden blocks. An original instruction manual is included, titled No. 77 Manual of Instructions: The Duplex Standard Construction Toy.

The wooden storage chest exhibits significant surface wear, scratches, and extensive loss and darkening of the red paint finish. The internal metal components show varying degrees of play wear, including paint chipping and areas of light surface oxidation. The instruction manual is in delicate condition with noticeable edge wear, staining, and a significant tear to the front cover. The set has not been inventoried for completeness and is sold as-is.
