Description
This is an authentic Lladro glazed porcelain figurine titled Sad Sax, model number 5471, designed by Francisco Catala. The polychrome figure depicts a somber clown standing and playing a saxophone. The character is dressed in an oversized, pale cream-colored overcoat accented with large blue buttons, a matching blue bow tie, gray trousers, and brown shoes. He wears a brown bowler hat over stylized blue-gray hair. The clown’s face features traditional white makeup with a red nose and a downcast, contemplative expression.
The underside of the base features the blue Lladro backstamp with the bell logo, reading LLADRO HAND MADE IN SPAIN and DAISA 1987. Several marks are incised into the porcelain, including the model number 5471, B-10 A, and 471, along with two small hand-incised artisan symbols. The base is circular and includes protective white felt strips.

Condition report:
The figurine is in excellent condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, crazing, or signs of professional restoration. Delicate areas, including the fingers, saxophone, and hat brim, are completely intact.
