Description
A modernist studio pottery stoneware platter by American artist John Freimarck. The platter is square in form with rounded corners and a shallow, slightly upturned rim. It is crafted from a coarse, speckled tan stoneware clay body. The underside is stamped with the maker mark FREIMARCK. The center of the unglazed base also features a large, hand-painted mark in dark brown glaze that appears as a stylized loop or cursive letter.
13.5 inches square x 1 inch high.
The item appears to be in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs. There is minor surface wear and occasional pinholing consistent with handmade studio pottery and the firing process.
