Description
This lot includes two vintage dolls of different materials and styles. The larger doll is constructed of hard plastic or late-period composition and features molded and painted brown hair, plastic sleep eyes with integrated eyelashes, and a painted mouth with a circular opening designed for a bottle. This doll is attributed to mid-century manufacturers such as American Character or Ideal, resembling models like Tiny Tears or Betsy Wetsy. The smaller doll is made of composition with molded and painted light brown hair and painted side-glancing eyes in a googly style. No maker marks are visible on either doll.
Large doll height: 12.5 inches
Small doll length: 8.5 inches.
The dolls are in aged condition with visible wear. The larger doll shows significant crazing on the back of the head and minor staining on the cap. The smaller composition doll is in poor condition with extensive cracking, pitting, and paint loss across the head and body. A structural crack is present at the left hip joint. Both dolls show general surface scuffs and soil consistent with age.
