Description
A vintage Timex Data Link 150 digital watch, produced in collaboration with Microsoft. This early example of wearable technology features an optical sensor at the top of the dial, which was designed to receive data by reading light pulses from a CRT computer monitor. The stainless steel caseback is stamped with the following text: Timex Data Link 150 Watch, Stainless Steel Caseback, Water Resistant 30 Meters, CR 2025, U.S. Patent Nos. 4,527,096 and 5,488,571, 802 D4, and Philippines.
Case width: Approximately 38 mm (excluding pushers).
The watch is in used, pre-owned condition with visible surface wear. There are scuffs and scratches throughout the case, bezel, and bracelet links. Significant wear is visible on the gold-toned plating of the bezel and bracelet. The digital display is currently inactive; the watch has not been tested for functionality and likely requires a CR 2025 battery replacement.
