Description
This lot features two American ceramic items consisting of a commemorative porcelain plate and a pottery serving dish. The first item is a fine porcelain plate manufactured by Lenox. It features a white ground with a central black transfer-printed silhouette of a woman in profile. The rim is decorated with a black beaded border and thin concentric black lines. The reverse is printed with the following: Colonial Homes Anniversary 1975 – 1995 Limited Edition One of one thousand, accompanied by the Lenox logo and Made in U.S.A. The second item is a circular earthenware serving dish finished in a high-gloss brown glaze. The dish is molded with twelve peripheral wells and a single central well, suitable for serving oysters or deviled eggs. A molded leaf-vein motif radiates from the center. The underside is impressed with the marks CALIF USA and S 30.
Plate diameter: 10 3/4 inches
Serving dish diameter: 10 inches.
Both items are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The pottery serving dish displays typical unglazed kiln contact points on the base.
