This vertical landscape is executed in watercolor with gouache highlights on paper, depicting a river scene at sunset or sunrise in a late Tonalist style. The atmospheric work is signed and dated in the lower left corner in a light-colored pigment reading Guendel-38. The verso is covered in plain brown backing paper with a wire hanger and bears no labels.
Frame: 25.5 x 11.5 inches.
The artwork exhibits overall toning to the paper support consistent with age. A faint mat burn line is visible at the perimeter where the central rectangular image meets the tan border. The frame shows minor surface wear and light abrasions to the edges. No significant foxing, moisture damage, or pigment loss is observed.
