Description
A Lalique frosted and clear lead crystal sculpture titled Le Faune, also known as Deux Figurines. Originally designed by Marc Lalique in 1951, the piece depicts two intertwined nude figures, a male and a female, in a dynamic embrace. The figures exhibit a satin-finished frosted surface and are set atop an integral circular base decorated with high-relief grapevines and clusters of grapes. The base transitions from the frosted design to a polished clear finish at the bottom edge. The underside of the base features an etched script signature that reads Lalique France. Additionally, a square metallic foil label is present on the underside with vertically oriented text reading CRISTAL LALIQUE.
Height: 5 5/8 inches (14.3 cm).
This sculpture is in excellent condition. There are no observable chips, cracks, or professional repairs. Minor shelf wear is present on the polished underside of the base. The original factory foil label is significantly worn with a partially missing metallic finish.
