Description
A Lalique lead crystal plaque, referred to as the Kneeling Madonna or Vierge à l’Enfant. The arched crystal piece features a central relief of the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child, who is shown with one finger raised in blessing. The figures are rendered with a frosted, satin finish, set against a background of molded sunburst rays. A continuous border of stylized six-petaled flowers follows the arched perimeter of the plaque. The entire piece is supported by an integrated, thick clear crystal oval base. An etched script signature reading Lalique France is present on the lower edge of the base.

Width: 3 3/8 inches.
This item is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, or significant abrasions are visible. There is minor, expected shelf wear to the polished underside of the base.
