Description

This Art Deco period convertible jewelry piece functions as both a brooch and a pendant, crafted in 14 karat gold. The frame is decorated with delicate openwork, geometric piercings, and engraved floral motifs typical of the 1920s and 1930s. Four lozenge-cut green gemstones, which appear to be emeralds, are set into the frame at the cardinal points. The reverse is equipped with a horizontal pin stem and a safety barrel clasp, as well as a hinged, fold-down bail at the top to accommodate a chain. The pin catch assembly is stamped with a 14K mark, indicating the gold purity.
Weight: 11.2 grams
Dimensions: 1.75 inches in height; 1.375 inches in width.
The piece is in very good condition with wear consistent with age. The shell cameo is well-preserved, showing no visible cracks, chips, or crazing. The 14 karat white gold filigree is intact with light surface scratches and a faint patina. All four accent gemstones are present and securely mounted. The pin mechanism and the convertible pendant bail are fully functional.
