Description
This mid-century modern art glass vase, identification number 7276, was produced by the Viking Glass Company of New Martinsville, West Virginia. Rendered in a vibrant ruby red, the piece features a bulbous, spherical base that transitions into a long, slender neck, finishing with a flared three-lobed tricorn or jack-in-the-pulpit rim. The vase is hand-blown, evidenced by the characteristic rough, snapped-off pontil mark on the underside of the base. A partial pink and yellow paper manufacturer’s label is affixed to the bulbous portion of the vase, with the legible fragments V, NG, and ADE identifying it as a Viking product made in the USA.
Height: 10.5 inches.
Excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The paper manufacturer’s label is fragmented and incomplete. The base shows expected light shelf wear and a characteristic rough pontil scar from the manufacturing process.
