Description
This antique British stoneware ginger beer bottle is of a cylindrical bullet form with a bulbous neck containing an internal screw thread. The body is crafted from stoneware with a yellowish-tan glaze and features a black transfer-printed oval label on the front. The label is inscribed with J. Lang in an arc at the top, Stone Brewed Ginger Beer in the center, and Longsight at the base. The words Extra and Quality: are positioned within the left and right borders of the oval. The bottle retains a black composition screw-top stopper embossed with Longsight, Dysons Ltd, B & E, and Manchester.
Height: 7.5 inches including cap
The item displays significant crazing throughout the glaze. A vertical hairline crack measuring approximately 5 inches is present on the reverse side, extending upward from the base. The base rim shows minor pitting, staining, and small chips. The transfer print is legible and well-preserved. The stopper is present and appears to be in good condition.
