Description
This vintage citrus reamer insert is crafted from opaque green glass, commonly known as jadeite. The material is uranium glass, which produces a bright neon green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. The piece is produced using a pressed glass technique, featuring visible mold lines along the fluting and base. The central conical reamer is designed with ten vertical flutes for juice extraction. The surrounding circular rim contains eight slotted openings for straining seeds and pulp from the juice. The base is smooth and finished, lacking a pontil mark. Although the item bears no maker’s marks, this style and material were characteristic of American kitchenware produced by companies such as McKee and Jeannette during the Depression era.
Height: 3 inches
Diameter: 5.5 inches.
The item is in very good vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The glass retains a smooth, glossy finish with only minor surface wear consistent with age and light use.
