Description
A pair of vintage kitchen canisters manufactured by the Jeannette Glass Company. These items are constructed from opaque green uranium glass, commonly known as Jadeite, which exhibits a bright neon-green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. Both canisters feature a decorative horizontally ribbed beehive pattern around the bottom half of the body. The base of the larger canister features an embossed mark consisting of a triangle with a lowercase j, representing the Jeannette Glass Company, alongside the mold number 2115-4. Each jar is fitted with a screw-on metal lid.
Coffee Canister: Approximately 7.5 inches tall
Tea Canister: Approximately 4.5 inches tall.
The larger coffee canister shows several visible stress fractures and cracks located on the lower ribbed section and across the base. The COFFEE label shows minor wear. Both metal lids show heavy oxidation and surface corrosion consistent with age. Shelf wear and darkening are visible on the underside of the glass bases.
