Description
This collection of American earthenware is in the Woodfield pattern, produced by the Steubenville Pottery Company of Steubenville, Ohio. The assortment features a naturalist molded leaf design with various solid-colored glazes including chartreuse green, teal blue, dove gray, and salmon pink. The matching footed cups feature a molded leaf border around the lower half of the bowl and a scrolled handle. Each piece bears an impressed mark on the underside consisting of the word Woodfield in cursive script above a horizontal line, followed by MFG. BY STEUBENVILLE.
Plates: 9inches in diameter
Cups: 2.25 inches in height.
The collection shows signs of age and previous use. Significant fine-line crazing is visible under the glaze on the chartreuse plate and likely occurs to varying degrees on other pieces. A small glaze nick or flea bite is present on the rim of the gray plate. Minor glaze imperfections and surface wear consistent with mid-20th century earthenware are present. No major cracks or professional repairs are noted.
