Description
A double-handled ceramic vase of tapered ovoid form by Royal Nishiki Nippon, featuring a flared and scalloped rim. The underside of the base bears a circular ink stamp featuring the words ROYAL and NIPPON surrounding a globe symbol with a banner reading NISHIKI. A secondary blue ink stamp reads MADE IN JAPAN, which indicates a transitional production period around 1921 to comply with revised United States import regulations.
Height: 10.5 inches.
The vase is in good overall condition. There is visible wear to the gilding on both handles. The cream ground shows minor surface scuffs, a few small dark firing specks, and areas of light discoloration/staining towards the lower third of the body. The rim and base exhibit typical shelf wear and light scuffing. No chips, cracks, or visible repairs are observed.
