Description
This lot features a collection of 25 vintage die-cast vehicles and a dedicated storage case. The carrying case is manufactured by Tara Toy Corp and features a blue vinyl exterior with a yellow plastic handle. The front graphic displays two stock cars on a track under the title 48 Car Case, Style Number 20300. The interior contains two blue plastic lattice divider trays designed to hold up to 48 miniature vehicles. The vehicle collection primarily consists of Hot Wheels models by Mattel, Inc., including two 67 Camaros dated 1982, one in blue with flame graphics and one in yellow with black racing stripes. Other notable Hot Wheels include a 1979 Corvette Sting Ray in black, a 1977 orange flip-up funny car, and various models produced in Malaysia and China between 1976 and 1989. The lot also includes a Matchbox Models of Yesteryear 1909 Opel Coupe, model Y-4, marked as made in England by Lesney. Two promotional Northwest Airlines vehicles are present: a silver car and a red and white scissor-lift truck. Most vehicles are constructed with die-cast metal bodies and plastic baseplates or components. One blue car features functional opening doors.
Case: 13 inches wide by 10.5 inches high.
The collection is in played-with condition. Vehicles show varying degrees of paint loss, surface scuffs, and minor oxidation on unpainted metal bases. The Northwest Airlines truck scissor lift is functional. Most wheels are free-rolling. The vinyl case shows typical shelf wear, minor surface abrasions, and some softening of the structural cardboard panels. The plastic trays and handle remain intact.
