Description
A set of eight glazed ceramic dinner or service plates by Fitz and Floyd. The plates feature a wide, flat rim and a circular recessed center, finished in a uniform, high-gloss solid black glaze. The undersides of the plates are finished in white. Each plate is marked on the reverse with a black stamp reading FITZ AND FLOYD, INC. / © MCMLXXVIII / JAPAN / FF. The Roman numerals MCMLXXVIII signify a 1978 copyright date. The set is accompanied by eight original red Fitz and Floyd cardboard boxes. THESE ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL BOXES FOR THESE PLATES. Diameter: 10.75 inches. The plates are in good vintage condition. Light surface scratches are visible on the black glaze when viewed under direct light, consistent with age and occasional use. No chips, cracks, or repairs were observed.
