Description
A set of four circular quilted placemats featuring the licensed character Strawberry Shortcake. The central design on each depicts the character in a garden setting, holding a candy cane, accompanied by her cat, Custard. The background features a dense pattern of green foliage and various red strawberries. The placemats are constructed from printed fabric with machine-quilted wavy lines and are finished with a red and white polka-dot bias tape binding. The reverse side consists of a solid red quilted fabric. These items are characteristic of 1980s licensed textile merchandise or items made from commercially available fabric panels of that era.
Each placemat measures approximately 16.5 inches in diameter.
The placemats are in fair to good vintage condition. One placemat has a small, dark localized stain on the pink area of the hat. There are minor loose threads and light fraying visible along the polka-dot binding on the edges of multiple pieces. The printed colors remain vibrant, and the quilted stitching is largely intact.
