Description
A set of three Chinese polychrome woodblock prints on “xuan paper” or “fibrous mulberry paper”. These prints are executed in an archaic style that emulates the stone and brick relief carvings of the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE). The top print features a bicephalous (two-headed) mythical bird in a graduated palette of red, orange, and green, framed by blue sawtooth borders. The middle print depicts two affronted birds with a central red ribbon held in their beaks, rendered in a red, yellow, and green gradient with matching blue sawtooth borders. The bottom print shows a sinuous blue dragon in a dynamic horizontal pose, bordered by orange-yellow sawtooth patterns. Each sheet features two red seal marks. The vertical rectangular seal in the upper right contains four characters, transcribed as Han Si Gong Li (漢巳功里), likely identifying a specific 20th century workshop or series. The square seal in the lower left contains two characters reading Han Hua (漢畫), literally translated as Han painting or Han picture. The stippled application of color and textured background are characteristic of woodblock printing.

Generally good condition with light handling creases and minor rippling typical of thin fibrous paper. Colors remain vibrant and well-defined. No significant tears, foxing, or staining observed.
