Description
This lot features a Sharp Electronics Corporation Model FX-28A portable transistor radio and a pair of matching vintage overhead headphones. The radio is a solid-state 10-transistor unit made in Japan, featuring a black textured vinyl-wrapped cabinet with a chrome-finished upper trim and a vertical carrying handle. The front face includes a white analog slide-rule dial for AM and FM frequencies. Controls consist of three front-facing knurled knobs for Tuning, Volume (with integrated Off/On switch), and Band Selection, as well as three rocker switches for CAR ANT, AFC, and TONE. The unit includes a multi-section telescopic antenna and is powered by a detachable AC cord or three 1.5V UM-2 batteries. The headphones consist of a black plastic-covered metal headband with adjustable sliders and exposed tension springs. The round earcups are made of molded black plastic with perforated earpieces. The headphones are terminated with a 1/4-inch mono phone jack featuring a knurled metal housing. Radio powers on, reception untested.
