Description
A circular color print after a painting by Francois Boucher (1703–1770), depicting a pastoral scene with two young women and a man in 18th-century attire. The print is signed Boucher in cursive in the lower right. It is housed in a circular gilded composition frame with floral and foliate relief patterns. The reverse features a paper dust cover with a handwritten inscription reading Shepherd and Shepherdess.
Overall frame diameter: 18.5 inches
The print displays visible toning across the paper and scattered foxing, primarily localized in the lighter areas of the sky. The gilded frame shows minor surface wear, small losses to the finish, and stable cracking within the composition relief. The paper backing on the verso is aged with some tearing and surface dirt.
