Description
This handcrafted musical casket was produced in Sorrento, Italy, by Art Decor for distribution through The San Francisco Music Box & Gift Co. The lid is decorated with a polychrome marquetry inlay depicting a bouquet of tulips tied with a ribbon, framed by a black-stained border. The base features a green oval label stating HAND – CRAFTED IN SORRENTO – ITALY / THE SAN FRANCISCO MUSIC BOX & GIFT CO. / CREATED BY ART DECOR. The winding key is marked Sankyo. Unknown song.

The music box is in good condition with minor signs of age-related wear. There is light scuffing and minor finish loss to the stained wood on the interior of the lid. The velvet lining and exterior veneer are well-preserved. The musical movement and winding mechanism are present and appear functional.
