Description
An assortment of cloisonne enamel cabinet vases showcasing decorative motifs and techniques characteristic of the Japanese Meiji period. Each piece is constructed with a copper alloy body and finished with a characteristic turquoise blue counter-enamel interior. No maker marks are visible on the rims or bodies.
Tallest vase: 6.25 inches
Smaller vases: 4.5 inches.
The yellow-ground vases exhibit significant condition issues, including large chips and enamel losses on the shoulders and bodies that expose the underlying metal. The black-ground vase shows localized enamel losses, surface pitting, and general wear. The white-ground vase displays minor surface wear and small nicks to the enamel. All pieces show oxidation and tarnish to the exposed metal rims and bases consistent with age.
