Description
This set of Chinese folk-style figurines is attributed to the traditional Tianjin Clay Figurine Zhang workshop. The figures are constructed from molded clay that has been hand-painted with a matte finish. The set is housed in its original rectangular storage box, which is covered in a green fabric featuring a repeating phoenix and cloud pattern. There are no visible maker marks or signatures on the solid-colored painted bases.

The collection shows signs of age and wear consistent with its material. One figurine in a green jacket has a significant vertical crack on its pink base. There are scattered minor paint chips and abrasions on all figures, particularly around the bases and hair.
