Description

A set of four depression-era kitchen shakers or canisters crafted from opaque green uranium glass, commonly referred to as jadeite. These vessels are attributed to the Jeannette Glass Company and feature a beehive or ringed pattern around the lower portion of the body. Each shaker is constructed with a mold-pressed technique, featuring threaded rims designed for screw-on lids. The set contains vessels labeled for flour, sugar, salt, and pepper in a black block font. The bases are smooth and finished without maker’s marks or pontil scars.

Height: Approximately 4.5 inches.

This set is in fair to good condition, with wear consistent with age and functional kitchen use. Only one shaker (Sugar) includes its metal lid, which is heavily oxidized and dented. The other three shakers are missing their lids. The black fired-on lettering for Salt and Pepper is significantly faded and difficult to read, while the labels for Flour and Sugar remain largely intact with minor wear. Surface grime is present throughout, particularly around the rims and base edges. No chips, cracks, or significant structural damage were observed.
