Description
Two Continental hand-painted porcelain portrait miniatures. The first plaque depicts a woman in profile wearing a white wimple and a dark gown with a cross pendant, rendered against a dark green ground. The second plaque is a copy after Titians La Flora, depicting a young woman with long curled hair and draped garments.
Larger frame height: 7 inches
Smaller frame height: 5.5 inches.
The openwork scrolling frame shows notable losses to the gilded finish & some breakage at the bottom, exposing the underlying white composition material. Both gilt metal frames exhibit surface wear, oxidation, and minor tarnishing consistent with age. The porcelain plaques appear to be in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The wire easel stand on the larger frame is functional.
