Description
A group of five vintage toys including two Happo character pull toys, a die-cast tractor, a pressed steel cash register, and a tin lithograph bird. The Happo pull toys are manufactured by The Al-Vern Corp. of Jerome, Michigan, and are constructed from hard plastic with cord pulls. One pull toy is accompanied by its original illustrated cardboard box which identifies the actions as eyes roll, mouth open, and hat whirl. The die-cast metal tractor is finished in red paint with rubber tires and features the embossed markings MADE IN USA PAT. 2786305 on the side of the body, attributed to the Carter Tru-Scale Machine Co. The toy cash register is made of pressed steel with a green crinkle finish, white plastic denomination keys, and a red NO SALE key. The display window shows the number 50. The collection also includes a small lithographed tin bird.
Cash register height: 7.25 inches.
The collection is in as-found condition with wear consistent with age and play. The tractor shows significant paint loss, chipping, and surface oxidation across the metal body. The Happo toys show minor paint loss to the facial features, and the original box is in poor condition with significant tearing, missing top flaps, and heavy shelf wear. The cash register displays general surface wear, scratches, and small spots of oxidation. The tin bird shows moderate paint wear and surface patina.
