Description
This collection consists of 39 vintage machine-made glass marbles. The primary group features large shooter or boulder sized marbles made of opaque yellow-to-cream custard-style glass, with some examples displaying subtle internal swirls. These large marbles exhibit a distinct orange-pink fluorescence under ultraviolet light, a characteristic indicative of cadmium glass. The collection also includes an assortment of standard-sized marbles, featuring multi-colored swirls in orange, blue, and green on white bases, patch marbles, and one translucent dark red marble. Several pieces in the smaller set demonstrate a bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet light, identifying them as uranium glass.
Large Marbles: Approximately .75-1 inches in diameter
Small Marbles: Approximately 5/8 inch in diameter.
The marbles are in good vintage condition. They show minor surface wear including small scuffs and flea bites consistent with age and typical use. No significant chips, deep cracks, or repairs are visible.
