Description
This vintage manual countertop citrus juicer is a Juice-O-Mat model manufactured by the Rival Manufacturing Co. of Kansas City, Missouri. The appliance is constructed from a heavy cast metal body finished in a period mint green enamel. It features a Streamline Moderne design with vertical fluted ribbing on the exterior. The top dome is chrome-plated and features embossed script lettering reading Juice-O-Mat inside an oval border. The unit is operated by a side-mounted chrome-plated lever handle with a deco-style grip using a rack-and-pinion mechanical system. The interior contains two removable cast aluminum components: a juice collection funnel and a ridged reamer cone.

The juicer is in fair to good vintage condition. There is widespread chipping and loss to the green enamel finish, particularly along the base and the edges of the frame. The chrome-plated surfaces show surface scratches, light pitting, and areas of oxidation. The internal cast aluminum funnel and reamer exhibit surface oxidation and darkening from use. The mechanical lever-action mechanism is in functional working order.
