Description
This five-piece collection consists of brass decorative items typical of 20th-century export wares from India. The assortment includes one footed vase with a bulbous body and flared rim featuring hand-incised floral and scroll patterns, and one slender trumpet vase with a flared rim and minimal incised decoration near the base. Also included is a decorative bell featuring red and green cold-painted eye-shaped motifs around the body, fitted with a loop handle and internal clapper. Completing the set are two matching shallow dishes with flared, decorative rims pierced with small holes and embossed circular medallions in the center depicting stylized animals or symbols. All items appear to be cast and finished on a lathe, evidenced by concentric turning marks visible on the bases. No other legible maker marks or stamps are present.
Footed Vase: 5.5 inches height
Trumpet Vase: 4.5 inches height
Bell: 3 inches height
Dishes: 4 inches diameter.
The items are in fair to good condition consistent with age and decorative use. Surface tarnish, oxidation, and verdigris are present, notably on the interior of the larger vase and the undersides of the dishes.
