Description
A trio of mid-20th-century decorative metal vessels of Indian origin. The first vessel is a brass vase of rectangular profile with rounded corners, a slender neck, and a flared circular rim. The body is decorated with three raised diagonal wrap-around bands in an Art Deco style and features a dark patinated finish. The base bears a blue and white sticker reading Made in India. The exterior features six lobes, each decorated with repoussé and chased floral motifs resembling poppies or lotuses. The base includes a label for Dorco Industries Inc. and a warning sticker stating the item is for decorative use only and not food safe. The base is marked with a Made in India sticker and a handwritten paper tag numbered 3030R.
Art Deco brass vase: 7 inches in height
Floral lobed vessel: 4 inches in height
Copper and brass jar: 4.5 inches in height.
All items exhibit surface tarnish, scratches, and wear consistent with age and use. Significant green verdigris oxidation is visible on the interior of the Art Deco brass vase and the floral lobed vessel.
