Description
A Japanese porcelain export vase featuring a bulbous body, pedestal base, flared rim, and two scrolled handles. The vessel is finished in a high-gloss black glaze with gilt trim along the rim and handles. The exterior is decorated with a traditional Tsuru and Matsu (Crane and Pine) motif, depicting two white cranes in flight with gold-toned wing highlights against silver-toned pine branches. The underside of the base retains a gold foil label printed with the words Fine China and JAPAN flanking a square logo containing three curved lines.
Height: 6.5 inches
The vase is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The gilt trim and black glaze are well-preserved. There is minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot ring on the base. A small, handwritten inventory mark reading OR is present on the lower body of the vase.
