Description
This lot consists of two Russian decorative eggs dating to the late 20th century. The first item is a porcelain egg on an integral pedestal base, decorated in the traditional Gzhel blue-and-white underglaze style. The obverse features a Russian Orthodox cathedral with prominent onion domes, while the reverse is decorated with a large floral spray and cross-hatched details. The underside of the pedestal bears a green oval factory stamp containing the Cyrillic word ГЖЕЛЬ (Gzhel) and the text HAND MADE IN RUSSIA. It also features hand-painted blue Cyrillic signatures transliterated as Ал. Рощенок (Al. Roshchenok) and исп Кариков (isp. Karikov). The second item is a hand-painted lacquer egg, likely of wooden construction, depicting St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow. Above the cathedral is a banner reading МОСКВА (MOSCOW) in Cyrillic. The scene is signed at the base in Cyrillic characters Дубицкий В. И. (Dubitsky V. I.) above a band featuring the colors of the Russian tricolor flag. The reverse of the egg is finished in solid black lacquer.

Both objects are in good condition. The porcelain egg is free from chips, cracks, or visible repairs, with minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rim. The lacquer egg retains a high-gloss finish with only minor surface micro-scratches consistent with light handling.
