Description
This collection of desk and traveling accessories includes various items from the mid-20th century. Featured is a turquoise paperboard desk basket with a gold-tone Greek key border, the base marked DESK BASKET MADE BY Stylecraft of BALTIMORE and DISTRIBUTED BY THE BECKHARD LINE NEW YORK. The group also contains a trio of carved and painted wooden monk figurines and a pair of gold-tone metal wire-rimmed spectacles. A traveling inkwell is housed in a red leather-bound case with the word Ink in gold-tone script; the case opens to a brass mechanism and a small removable clear glass bottle. A lidded enamel bowl features polychrome floral motifs on a red ground with a vibrant green interior and is stamped CHINA on the underside. Additional items include a pink glazed ceramic rectangular vessel, a wooden rocker blotter with a green felted base, a turned brass desk weight or pestle, a polished Petoskey stone fossil with a green felted bottom, a metal thimble, and a wrought iron hook tool.
